Formula 1, Austrian Grand Prix 2017, Betting Preview

The Red Bull Ring Circuit in Spielberg plays host to the Austrian Formula 1 Grand Prix on Sunday the 9th July.

Daniel Ricciardo recovered from a crash in qualifying to cross the line in 1st place in Azerbaijan a fortnight ago.  This was his 5th career victory.  Following him was Valtteri Bottas in 2nd with Lance Stroll taking up the final podium position.  Stroll became the first Canadian since the 2001 German GP to step onto the podium and also the second youngest driver ever to finish on the podium.   Vettel and Hamilton were involved in a controversial clash with Vettel then finishing 4th and Hamilton 5th.

In the Championship Standings Vettel is leading Hamilton by 14 points but Hamilton remains the favourite for the title at 7/10 from 9/10 despite finishing behind Vettel last time out.

Suggested Bet: Sebastian Vettel at 22/10

Mercedes have dominated this race winning the last 3 renewals. I have however been very impressed with Vettel this season and I expect him to give a good account of himself in what could develop into a match race with Hamilton. There will certainly be plenty of tension between the pair but for me Vettel offers the better value at nearly 3 times Hamilton’s price and remember the World Sports Betting “Money Back” Promo for 2nd place – see details on the banner below.
