The Hungaroring Circuit in Budapest plays host to the Hungarian Formula 1 Grand Prix on Sunday the 30th July.
Lewis Hamilton celebrated his 5th career Grand Slam (pole, led every lap, fastest lap, wins the race) when he won the British Grand Prix two weeks ago. He has also equalled the record for the most British Grand Prix victories held by Alain Prost and Jim Clark. His teammate Valtteri Bottas managed to fight his way back,after being given a 5 place penalty and starting in 9th to take the 2nd spot. Completing the podium was Kimi Raikkonen. Championship leader Vettel had to settle for 7th after having a late puncture.
Vettel had started the race with a 20 point lead over Hamilton but after amilton’Hamilton’s win there is now only 1 point dividing them and Hamilton has firmed to 11/20 from 9/10 with Vettel drifting to 16/10 from 9/10.

Lewis Hamilton won the 2016 Hungarian Grand Prix which saw him take the Driver’s Championship lead from Nico Rosberg who had entered the race 1 point ahead of his teammate. Rosberg took 2nd place followed by Daniel Ricciardo in the final podium position.
