PSL 23 & 24 September, Betting Preview

We take a look at the 3 live Absa Premiership matches being shown on Saturday and Sunday and suggest a bet in each.

Bidvest Wits v Orlando Pirates – click here to bet

Defending champions Wits are sitting just 1 from bottom on the table and have only taken 2 points from their opening 5 games.  They were beaten 3-0 away by AmaZulu in midweek and this will be their third home game having lost to Arrows and Cape Town City in the other two.

Their opponents Pirates came away with a 1-0 home win over Cape Town City in midweek and they currently sit 3rd on the table level on points with Baroka and Golden Arrows but behind them on goal difference.  All 5 of Pirates matches this season have had 2 goals or less in them and on the road they have played out a 0-0 draw to Maritzburg and a 1-1 draw with Baroka.

Wits won this fixture 1-0 last season and they also beat Pirates on the road 2-1.

Bidvest Wits 19/20

Draw 22/10

Orlando Pirates 29/10

Suggested bet:  Over 2.5 goals at 31/20.

I was considering taking the 19/20 about Wits winning as they have won their last 4 home matches in a row against Pirates but on current form I just have no faith in them.  I did feel there should have been a lot more goals in Pirates match against Cape Town City in midweek and are prepared to take what looks a fairly big price that we get 3 or more in this game.

Kaizer Chiefs v Golden Arrows click here to bet

Kaizer Chiefs head into the weekend in 4th place on the table on 8 points, 3 behind the leaders.  They were too strong for Maritzburg midweek winning 2-0 but they are still looking for their first home victory having drawn with Wits and lost to SuperSport United so far this season.

Golden Arrows have started the season in excellent fashion and they currently sit on top of the log on goal difference on 11 points from their 5 matches.  They beat Platinum Stars 1-0 away in midweek for their third successive victory and they have 2 wins and a draw in three away starts.

These sides drew this fixture 1-1 last season with Chiefs winning the reverse fixture at Arrows 2-0.

Kaizer Chiefs 17/20

Draw 24/10

Golden Arrows 31/10

Suggested Bet:  Both teams to score, YES, at 11/10

Arrows have found the net in all 3 away games and Chiefs have conceded in both home games and I am hoping that trend continues and we get both teams finding the back of the net.

Chippa United v Bloemfontein Celtic click here to bet

Sunday’s PSL fixture sees 11th placed Chippa United hosting 10th placed Bloemfontein Celtic, both teams currently sit on 5 points but Bloem Celtic have played a game less.

Chippa United have only taken 2 points from the last 9 they have played for and in midweek they drew 1-1 away with SuperSport their second successive draw.  Looking at their home form this will be their third match having lost 3-1 to Baroka and beaten AmaZulu 2-0.

Bloem Celtic have also suffered a defeat at the hand of Baroka losing 2-0 at home to them in midweek and in their two away matches they beat Polokwane 2-1 and drew 1-1 with Golden Arrows.

The sides played to a goalless draw here last season with Bloem Celtic winning the reverse fixture 2-0.

Chippa United 31/20

Draw 2/1

Bloemfontein Celtic 18/10

Suggested bet:  The draw at 2/1.

There is very little between these sides on the table and I don’t expect there to be much between them in this game.  The draw looks a very big runner.
