The Golf Club Milano in Italy plays host to this week’s European Tour event from the 12th to 15th October.
This par 71 layout has narrow fairways and small greens and it hosts the Italian Open for the 3rd successive year. Recent scores suggest we should be in for another birdie fest as the rough is negligible and accuracy into the greens and a hot putter are likely to be key this week.
With the Race to Dubai entering its final stretch a strong field is assembled and Jon Rahm heads the betting at 13/2 with Master champion Sergio Garcia priced at 14/1.
2016 – Francesco Molinari -22
2015 – Rikard Karlberg -19 *
2014 – Hennie Otto -20

2012 – Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano -24

28/1 and better the balance, prices correct at the time of posting but are subject to change
Tommy Fleetwood each way at 20/1
Fleetwood is my pick from the favourites this week. He was T7 here last year and has had an excellent year winning twice. He never contended last week but was very hot at times and he looks a lively runner here.
Rikard Karlberg each way at 150/1
The 2015 champion is a massive price but that is explained by a poor run of recent form which has seen him miss 2 cuts in succession. He showed his liking for this course by following up his win with a 12th place last year and based on that I am happy to take a massive price on him.
Paul Dunne each way at 33/1
I have backed Dunne a few times this year but unfortunately, I wasn’t on him a few weeks back when he won. He makes plenty of birdies and should be course suited although he was disappointing here in 2016 where he missed the cut.
Alexander Levy each way at 66/1
Levy has had an excellent year winning once and contending on numerous occasions. After a slight dip in form he was T7 last week a position he also filled here in 2016.
