The Japan MotoGP 2017, Betting Preview

The Twin Ring Motegi is the venue for this weekend’s Japanese MotoGP on Sunday the 15th of October.

Marc Marquez fought his way from 5th on the grid to win the Aragon MotoGP 3 weeks ago.  He was followed by his team-mate Dani Pedrosa with Jorge Lorenzo completing the podium.  Valentino Rossi who was back in action after being out with an injury for 24 days was in 5th spot.

Marquez now leads Dovizioso in the Championship Standings by 16 points and he has shortened from 1/3 to 1/16 in the outright betting markets with Dovizioso and Vinales both trading in double figures.

Race History

Marc Marquez took 1st spot at the Japan MotoGP in 2016 with Andrea Dovizioso runner-up and Maverick Vinales completing the trio.  This victory meant that Marquez was the 2016 MotoGP World Champion and he joined Jorge Lorenzo as a triple MotoGP world champion.

Suggested Bet: Dovizioso win at 33/4

I was tempted to go with the race favourite Marquez who is in brilliant form but I feel the value may lie with his closest challenger Dovizioso who was runner up last season and is over 6 times the price.
