Stage 12 of the 2017 TDF takes the riders from Pau to Peyragudes a distance of 214.5km and after a couple of sprint stages the breakaway specialists and climbers will finally get another chance to play.
Stage 11 followed the same pattern as most of the other flat stages and Marcel Kittel showed he is without doubt the fastest man in the race when he mowed the opposition down to win easy. He consolidates his lead in Green and the other classifications were unchanged with Froome enjoying a comfortable ride in Yellow.
There is some serious climbing to be done in this stage with a pair of Cat 1’s, an HC climb and a short but steep Cat 2 climb to end the stage. The GC men will attack each other but they may wait until late in the stage in which case the break may have got far enough ahead to steal the glory. Whichever way you look at it we should be in for an exciting stage from beginning to end something there has been precious little of in this tour so far.

D Martin 8/1
25/1 and better the balance, prices correct at the time of posting but subject to change
Win – Dan Martin at 8/1
He crashed on Sunday and today we will find out if he is carrying any effects of that? If not he has shown that he is climbing well and if he can stay in touch the final climb should suit him and he can sprint clear for the win.
Win – Benoot at 20/1
A classics rider who can climb, Benoot was excellent on a tougher stage on Sunday and if he can hit the break then he has an excellent chance of going all the way.
