Stage 14 of the 2017 TDF takes the riders from Blagnac to Rodez a distance of 181.5km and a short but steep final climb means we should be in for an exciting finish.
Stage 13 was animated by Alberto Contador who attacked early taking Mikel Landa with him. Having backed Landa at 22/1 I was hoping the pair would stay away but Quintana showed a return to form and together with Polka Dot jersey Barguil they caught the leaders and the 4 riders contested the finish. Landa sadly was more interested in time and it was Barguil who won easily in the end. Aru kept the Yellow Jersey by keeping clam and allowing other teams to work and the only real change is that Landa is now very much in contention after gaining time.
This is certainly not a straight forward stage and a couple of Cat 3 climbs in the 2nd half should ensure the true sprinters are shelled. The final ramp is very steep and the likes of Van Avermaet and Matthews will be licking their lips. I expect a strong break to go clear and it will be up to the likes of Sunweb and BMC to bring it back so Aru may have a relatively straight forward day.

He has been targeting this stage and has shown he is in great form. This finish suits him and his team have shown they have faith in him and are willing to work.

He seems to be improving as the race progresses and he can handle this finish and also has a decent kick.
