Wimbledon 2017, Men’s Final Betting Preview

We are down to the last 2 players at Wimbledon and the Men’s Final takes place on Sunday when the ageless Roger Federer comes up against an in-form Marin Cilic.

Marin Cilic v Roger Federer

Marin Cilic the 7th seed reached his first Wimbledon final when he defeated 24th seed Sam Querrey in 4 sets 6-7 (6), 6-4, 7-6 (3) and 7-5.  Cilic is now one match away from a second major trophy having won the US Open in 2014.  In the quarter-finals he beat the 16th seed Gilles Muller in a 5 setter, 3-6, 7-6 (6), 7-5, 5-7 and 6-1.

Cilic  will now face 3rd seed Roger Federer who moved a step closer to his 8th Wimbledon Title when he defeated 11th seed Tomas Berdych in 3 sets 7-6 (4), 7-6 (4) and 6-4 to advance to his 11th Wimbledon final .  In the quarter-finals he had another 3 set win 6-4, 6-2 and 7-6 (4) over 6th seed Milos Raonic. Federer has not dropped a set throughout the two weeks.

Should Cilic win his first Wimbledon title he will jump up to No.5 in the Emirates ATP rankings on Monday and if Federer wins he will move to No. 3.

In the Head to Head Federer leads Cilic 6-1

Marin Cilic 77/20

Roger Federer 2/11

Suggested Bet: Correct Set Score – Federer 3-1 at 24/10

Federer is a short price to win and that looks justified on current form. I do think that Cilic will put up a fight though and am backing him to win a set.
