Absa Premiership Preview, Wednesday 7th November

Kaizer Chiefs host Black Leopards and Mamelodi Sundowns are in action against Free State Stars in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday night and both home sides are odds on favourites.

Kaizer Chiefs v Black Leopards

Chiefs return to Absa Premiership action after sealing a Telkom Knockout semi final spot with a 1-0 win over Supersport on Sunday. Their league form has plenty of scope for improvement as Chiefs failed to collect any points from their home game against Polokwane and a derby clash with Pirates. Chiefs have won just 3 of 11 league games, drawing another 5 and also losing 3 and you have to go back to 22nd September for their last league win, 2-0 over Amazulu.

Leopards are looking for revenge after Chiefs knocked them out of the Telkom Knockout in the first round. That game went the full distance to penalty kicks after the game finished locked up at 1-1 and Leopards blew their chance of springing a surprise. Leopards have yet to win away from home this season, taking just the 2 points from 4 road trips and overall they have 9 points from 9 games.

Chiefs 11/20

Draw 63/20

Leopards 19/4

Suggested bet: HT/FT Chiefs/Chiefs at 15/10

This looks a good opportunity for Chiefs to get back on track in the league and we fancy they will lead at half time and full time.

Mamelodi Sundowns v Free State Stars

Sundowns remain unbeaten in the league with a record of 3 wins and 5 draws but at the weekend they were on the wrong end of a surprise result in the Telkom Knockout as they were beaten 3-0 at Baroka. Downs do have games in hand on their rivals in the title race and at the time of writing they were 6 points behind Wits who have played 2 games more.

Free State have already played 12 league games, 4 more than Sundowns and they are 1 point behind their opponents here. Away form is problematic as Stars have yet to win on their travels after 6 attempts. They have drawn at Leopards and Baroka but this looks a much tougher test and they haven’t beaten Sundowns in any competition since February 2011.

Sundowns 7/10

Draw 26/10

Free State Stars 9/2

Suggested bet: European Handicap, Draw, Sundowns -1 goal at 23/10

We fancy Sundowns to win by a single goal, 1-0, 2-1 etc.. so the bet we suggest here is to give the draw the vote in the Sundowns -1 handicap market.
