Morocco topped their group on goal difference after 2 victories and a draw. They then put in a polished performance to beat Namibia 2-0 in the quarter-finals but were given a stern test in the last 4 eventually getting past Libya 3-1 in extra time after the match finished 1-1 after 90 minutes. Morocco have only conceded 2 goals in 5 matches this season and they have scored 10 goals in regulation time.
Nigeria also finished the group stages on 7 points after 2 victories and a draw and that was enough to see them top their group by a point. They then required extra time to see off Angola in the quarter-finals before holding on against Sudan in the semi-finals to win 1-0.
These sides last met in 2014 in the African Nations Championship playoffs with Nigeria winning in extra time. You have to go back 10 years from that point to the previous time the sides met with Morocco winning 1-0 over Nigeria in the African Cup of Nations 2004
Suggested bet: The draw at 2/1
Morocco and Nigeria look very evenly matched and they have certainly been the 2 best teams in this Tournament. As is typical of African football tournaments goals have been at a premium and I expect that to be the case in the final and I would also be very surprised for one of these sides to run away with it. The draw looks a big runner and I see this going to extra time.
