Anthony Joshua v Joseph Parker, Betting Preview

The 3-belt heavyweight unification fight between Anthony Joshua from Britain and Joseph Parker from New Zealand will take place on Saturday night at the Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.

When 2 unbeaten fighters put their records and their titles at risk you know something is going to give. All of the WBO, WBA (Super) and IBF belts will be on the line in his clash of heavyweight giants and the winner will be very close to becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, a feat not achieved since Lennox Lewis did it in 1999.

Joshua is 6’6” orthodox figher who has a 20-0 record with all 20 fights finishing inside the distance. He is the current IBF, WBA (Super) and IBO Heavyweight Champion and of the pair he has fought the better fighters with a victory over Wladimir Klitskcho a testament to his quality.

Parker is 6’4” and also fights with an orthodox style. His record is an impressive 24-0 with 18 ko’s and he will be looking to outbox his opponent who has a longer reach. The current WBO Heavyweight Champion Parker has surgery on his elbows in 2017 and his last 3 fights have been won on decision so he may not have the power he did earlier in his career.

Joshua 2/9

Draw 33/1

Parker 7/2

Suggested Bet: Joshua win in rounds 4-6 at 5/2

There has been some money for Parker who has shortened into 7/2 from 11/2 but I can only see one winner here and that is the favourite Joshua. He is a bit short to back outright and the bet I am going for is that he finishes his opponents in rounds 4,5 or 6.
