The third and final T20 international between Australia and India takes place in Sydney on Sunday and after no result was possible in Melbourne on Friday the Aussies remain 1-0 up in the series.
Rain put paid to India’s hopes of levelling the series at the MCG. We did get some play and Australia were in trouble at 132/7 in 19 overs when the heavens opened. Ben McDermott (not out 32) was the top scorer for the home side but the players never returned to the field and India can no longer win the series.
The opening match took place in Brisbane on Wednesday and Australia won it by 4 runs (DLS). Batting first Australia made 158/4 in 17 overs and that target was revised up due to a rain delay with India then requiring 174 for victory.
Glen Maxwell top scored with 46, supported by Lynn (37) and Stoinis (33 not out) whilst Kuldeep Yadav (2/24) was the pick of the Indian bowlers.
India lost Rohit Sharma early but his opening partner Dhawan smashed 76. However the asking rate was climbing and Kohli made just 4 runs and it was only when Dinesh Karthik came to the crease that India started to accelerate again. Stoinis bowled the final over with India needing 13 runs and he took 2 wickets as Australia held on for a thrilling victory.
Australia have added Mitchell Starc to their squad for this final match of the series as a replacement for the injured Billy Stanlake.

Suggested Bet: India to win at 15/20
India had done little wrong before this series and we stick with them after they had the better of what play we did get on Friday.
