Belgium started strongly in their semi-final against France but were outplayed for most of the match and eventually lost 1-0. They had previously beaten Brazil 2-1 and come from behind to beat Japan 3-2. They won all 3 group matches.

England led early in their semi-final against Croatia but they failed to capitalise on some early dominance and the Croatian’s forced extra time and then won the game. England had previously beaten Sweden 2-0 and they beat Colombia on penalties after the game finished 1-1 after 90 minutes and extra time. England’s only loss in the group stages was a 1-0 defeat to Belgium.

Belgium 23/20

Draw 27/10

England 22/10

Suggested bet:  Over 3.5 goals at 14/10

It is quite amazing that these teams meet in a basically meaningless game for the 2nd time in this World Cup. For that reason I am going for a goals bet and given the history of this fixture 4 goals or more in total looks nicely priced. It would have arrived in 3 of the last 5 with the other 2 matches also delivering 3 goals each.
