The Brumbies take on the Sunwolves in Canberra on Sunday and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.
Heading into this round of fixtures the Brumbies sat 2nd on the Australian Conference on 24 points, level with the Rebels, but having played a game more. They came from behind to beat the Blues 26-21 at home last week and they have won 4 and lost 1 of their 5 home matches this season, the loss coming in Round 1 against the Rebels.
The Sunwolves have won twice this season and both games have been on the road at the Chiefs and the Waratahs. They were beaten by 6 points in Brisbane last week, having got beaten by 50 points by the Highlanders in Tokyo the week before. This will be the 4th match in Australia for the Sunwolves this season, having lost to the Reds and the Rebels and beaten the Waratahs.
Brumbies home games averaged 52 points this season and Sunwolves away games averaged 53 points each. The Sunwolves victory over the Waratahs earlier this season was their first over Australian opposition away since they started playing in 2016 and they have now won 1 and lost 8 times in 9 starts in Australia. The Brumbies have hosted the Sunwolves twice winning on each occasion by 10 points in 2018 and by 61 points in 2016

Brumbies -13.5 at 9/10
Sunwolves +13.5 at 9/10
Suggested bet: Handicap, Brumbies (-13.5) at 9/10
The Sunwolves certainly fought hard last week despite losing a number of players to cards, but I think they are going to find this powerful Brumbies pack a different proposition and like many teams they will struggle to stop the driving maul. This could be close for a while, but I suspect the home team will pull away to win easily.
