Chippa United v Bloemfontein Celtic, PSL Preview

The PSL swings back into action on Friday night when Chippa United host Bloem Celtic and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.

Chippa are currently 15th on the table and have gone 8 PSL matches without a victory.  Prior to the festive season break they lost 2-0 away to Wits and they have played 7 times at home this season winning just twice.  Chippa United home games have averaged just 1.9 goals each and over 2.5 goal backers would have collected in just 2 of the matches.

Bloem Celtic are 7th on the log but had a horrible end to the year losing 4 on the trot and only taking 1 point from their last 15 they played for.  Their last game was a 3-2 loss at Cape Town City and they have taken 10 points from a possible 21 on the road this season.  Bloem Celtic away matches have been the highest scoring in the division, averaging 2.9 goals each with over 2.5 goal backers collecting in 4 of the 7 matches.

Bloem Celtic won the reverse fixture 2-0 earlier this season and 3 of the last 5 meetings between these sides have finished in goalless draws.

Chippa United 21/10

Draw 37/20

Chippa United 31/20

Suggested bet:  The draw at 37/20.

This is an unimaginative play to kick off the year but it really is hard to pick a winner between 2 sides in such poor form.  History suggests this will be a low scoring encounter and for those of you looking for a more speculative play I would suggest the 1-1 draw at 19/4 or the 0-0 draw at 25/4.
