Egypt don’t come into this tournament in the best of form having played 5 friendly matches this year without a victory. They were in action last week losing 3-0 away to Belgium and in other recent matches drew with Columbia and Kuwait. Egypt have not qualified for the World Cup since 1990 when they failed to make it out of the group stages.
Uruguay have won all 3 of the International matches they have played this year although they haven’t met much in the way of opposition and on Friday they were comfortable 3-0 winners over Uzbekistan. Uruguay have twice won the World Cup but their last win came in 1950 and while they made the last 16 in 2014 their best performance came in South Africa in 2010 when they finished 4th.
Suggested bet: First goal scorer, Luis Suarez at 5/2.
Suarez is a proven performer on the World Cup stage and while not everyone’s favourite player there is no arguing that he has a nose for the goal and I am backing him to sneak in and open the scoring in this one.
