This weekend we will all be sitting down to watch the Currie Cup final between the Western Province and the Sharks. Although I would have loved to be there with the Lions, it was not to be for us this year so like everyone I will be watching from home.
The Sharks have been a powerhouse all season, but they suffered defeat at Newlands in September and I imagine the WP team will show up in even better form this weekend.
I predict this to be a high scoring game and if I had to give an exact score prediction I would expect something like WP 33 – 28 Sharks.
There is no denying the quality of the Western province team, but the Sharks are no push over either so expect it to go close.
For the betting man, there are a few ways to play this game…
Both teams will be playing very cautious, territory rugby so kicking will be the order of the day. First stoppage in play to be a Line out is currently 1/1 on World Sports Betting and I like this bet.
Lastly, I would hate to see a booking affect the final and I’m sure every single player taking the field on Saturday will feel the same, so my last bet suggestion will be to bet against a yellow card being issued at 16/10.
Here’s to a great final… Good luck to everyone playing! We will be watching…
