England batted first in the first test and they posted a total of 287 with Root (80) and Bairstow (70) top scoring and Ashwin was top Indian bowler with 4 wickets.
India’s reply was dominated by Virat Kohli who made 149 of their 274 runs with no other batsmen making more than 26 and there were 4 wickets for Sam Curran.
England were all out for 180 in their second innings as Sharma took 5 wickets but Curran’s 63 down the order was crucial in helping nudge the fourth innings target towards 200 runs.
India once again relied on Kohli who made 51 but wickets fell regularly around their skipper and they were all out for 162 with Ben Stoke taking 4 wickets.
Stokes will be missing from the England side for this second test but if the match is anything like as entertaining as the first it will be well worth following.

Bets: Batsman to score a Hundred in 1st Innings, Root? (yes) at 4/1
Kohli is in great form but India desperately need some support from their other batsmen to remain competitive. England skipper Joe Root was also in the runs in the first innings at Birmingham and we go with him to score a century first time up here.
