England v Uruguay, Rugby World Cup Betting Preview

After back to back defeats at Twickenham a despondent England team play their last match of the Rugby World Cup against Uruguay in Manchester on Saturday.

Things haven’t gone at all according to plan for England and they have become the 1st ever host nation to get knocked out at the group stages. An opening win over Fiji was followed by a 3 point loss to Wales and then a 20 point defeat to Australia in a match they simply had to win. The side is in disarray with talk of internal arguments and disagreements in the camp but they will surely have few problems in disposing of Uruguay. England have made 8 changes including firstt starts for 7 players.

Uruguay have lost all 3 matches going down by 45 to Wales, 62 to Australia and 32 to Fiji where they managed to collect 2 tries and in so doing opened their account at this World Cup. They played above themselves against Fiji on Tuesday but the short turnaround is surely going to count against them.

England -59.5 at 9/10

Uruguay +59.5 at 9/10

Suggested Bet: England -59.5 at 9/10

There was always a strong chance that this game would see England hunting tries to improve their point’s difference but that’s not the case and being a dead rubber this could be tricky to punt on. Despite all the problems and disappointment within the camp I expect England to go all out for a big win especially given some of the players are getting their first start. Uruguay looked down and out in keeping Fiji fairly honest on Tuesday but I expect they will fade badly and England can run up a massive score.
