EPL, Matchday 23 Betting Preview

279

The English Premier League is back after a short break and we take a look at 3 of the live fixtures coming up this weekend from a betting angle.

Please note that the Liverpool v Man City match will be covered in a separate preview

Chelsea v Leicesterclick here to bet

Chelsea are 3rd on the table with 4 wins and 2 draws in their last 6 matches.  They have been very strong at home winning their last 7 games and only conceding 1 goal in their last 6 home matches.  They were in action midweek in the Carabao Cup where they drew 0-0 with Arsenal.

Leicester are 8th on the table and they broke a run of 4 matches without a victory when they beat Huddersfield 3-0 at home last time out.  They have lost their last 2 matches on the road to Liverpool and Watford but they have managed to score in their last 7 away matches.

Chelsea beat Leicester 2-1 away earlier in the season and they won this fixture 3-0 last season.

Betting

Chelsea 7/20

Draw 9/2

Leicester 33/4

Suggested bet:  Both teams to score, YES, at 9/10.

This is an interesting one as it pits Chelsea’s strong home defensive record against the excellent scoring record of Leicester on the road but I am expecting both teams to score with Chelsea possibly a little bit stretched at the moment after a hectic schedule.

Tottenham Hotspur v Evertonclick here to bet

Saturday’s late kick off sees 5th placed Spurs at home to 9th placed Everton

Spurs drew 1-1 at home to West Ham in their last EPL start and that broke a run of 3 successive victories.  They are undefeated in their last 10 home matches with 4 draws and 6 wins.

Everton have only taken 2 points from the last 12 they have played for in the League and they have only won 1 match in 11 away starts this season.

Spurs beat Everton 3-0 away earlier in the season and they won this fixture 3-2 last season.

Betting

Tottenham Hotspur 3/10

Draw 19/4

Everton 10/1

Suggested bet:  Total goals aggregated, 2-3 goals at 1/1

I can see this game starting off tight but I do expect goals and this bet would have arrived in 3 of the last 4 head-to-heads between the sides.

Bournemouth v Arsenalclick here to bet

Our featured Sunday match pits 16th placed Bournemouth at home to 6th placed Arsenal.

Bournemouth are undefeated in their last 3 League matches most recently drawing 2-2 away at Brighton.  Bournemouth’s last 5 matches have delivered for over 2.5 goal backers.  Their home form has been erratic and they have only won 1 of their last 5 matches and that was last time out when they beat Everton 2-1.

Arsenal are undefeated in their last 7 League games but they have only had 2 victories in that time with 5 draws most recently at home to Chelsea where the score finished 2-2.  They have drawn 3 and won 2 of their last 5 away matches and 4 of their last 5 away games have had 2 goals or less in them.

Arsenal beat Bournemouth 3-0 at home earlier this season and last season this fixture finished 3-3.

Betting

Bournemouth 67/20

Draw 63/20

Arsenal 15/20

Suggested bet:  Over 3.5 goals at 23/20.

Goals tend to flow in Bournemouth home games and this bet would have arrived in 2 of the last 3 meetings between the sides.
