There are 6 English Premier League matches taking place on Saturday and we suggest a bet in each.
Tottenham v Huddersfield – click here to bet
Tottenham are 4th on the table after getting their first win in 6 starts when they beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at home last time out. Their recent home form has been good with 4 wins and a draw in their last 5 starts.
Huddersfield are bottom of the table and guaranteed of relegation with just 3 wins in 33 matches. They have only won once on the road all season and have conceded over 3 goals for every goal they have scored on the road.
Suggested bet: Goals home team, 3 or more at 9/10
Tottenham will be looking to take advantage of this fixture against a side which has very little to play for and I think they will score 3 goals or more.
Brighton v Bournemouth – click here to bet
Brighton are 16th on the table and not yet mathematically certain to stay up. They have lost their last 2 games away at Chelsea and at home to Southampton and last weekend were beaten in the FA Cup semi-finals by Manchester City. Their recent home form has been erratic with a win, 3 losses and a draw in their last 5 starts.
Bournemouth are 13th on the table, but they haven’t been in the greatest of form with just 1 win in their last 9 starts. They were beaten 3-1 at home by Burnley last time out and they have only won 4 matches on the road this season, conceding more than 2 goals for every one they have scored.
Suggested bet: Brighton win at 13/10
Brighton beat Bournemouth on the road earlier this season and I think given they have more to play for they can do the double.
Burnley v Cardiff – click here to bet
Burnley are 14th on the table and have virtually assured their safety with back-to-back victories away to Bournemouth and at home to Wolves. They were both important wins as it broke a run of 4 successive losses. Burnley’s home form has been decent, but they have lost 50% of their home games this season.
Cardiff occupy the 3rd and final relegation spot and they are 5 points behind Southampton who sit above them on the table. They haven’t been helped by a poor run of form that has seen them win 1 and lose 5 of their last 6 matches, although they did give a good account of themselves in going down 2-0 away at Manchester City last time out. Cardiff have only won twice on the road this season and they have been outscored by just over 3 goals to 1 on the road.
Suggested Bet: Burnley win at 9/10
Burnley are in good form and while Cardiff will be desperate I think that Burnley will knock another nail into their coffin.
Fulham v Everton – click here to bet
Fulham are guaranteed to be relegated and they currently sit 19th on the log having lost their last 9 matches in succession, most recently going down 4-1 away at Watford. They have managed to win 25% of their home matches this season, but are on a 4 match losing streak at home.
Everton have climbed to 9th on the table after 3 successive victories, most recent of which was a 1-0 home win over Arsenal. In Everton’s last 8 League games both teams have found the net on only one occasion and under 2.5 goals would have arrived in 4 of their last 5 games.
Everton beat Fulham 3-0 at home earlier in the season.
Suggested bet: Everton win at 15/20
Given Fulham’s losing streak and the fact that they are already relegated I think it is a cracking price on an away win.
Southampton v Wolves – click here to bet
Southampton are sitting 17th on the table, 5 points clear of Cardiff who occupy the final relegation spot. They have won 3 of their last 5 matches, but went down 3-1 at home to Liverpool last time out. They have been a bit disappointing at home this season, winning 4 from 16 games, but although they lost to Liverpool I was quite impressed with them on the night.
Wolves are 8th on the table and they beat Manchester United 2-1 at home in their last start. Things haven’t gone as well on the road of late though and they have only taken 2 points from the last 12 they have played for.
Suggested bet: Southampton win at 16/10
Wolves will still be rocked from the FA Cup exit by Watford on the weekend and Southampton can take one step closer to ensuring their safety.
Manchester United v West Ham – click here to bet
The late kick-off sees 6th placed Manchester United host 11th placed West Ham. United have seen the momentum stopped a bit with 2 defeats in their last 3 starts, most recently going down 2-1 away at Wolves. They have been excellent at home of late though and they have only lost once at Old Trafford all season.
West Ham are coming off back-to-back defeats away at Chelsea and at home to Everton and they failed to score in 3 of their last 4 games. West Ham have battled on the road of late and have only taken 1 point from the last 15 they have played for.
West Ham won the reverse fixture 3-1, the last 2 times these sides have met at Old Trafford in the League, United have scored 4 goals.
Suggested bet: Handicap, Manchester United at 1/1
United are still eyeing a 4th place finish and against a West Ham side that do not have that much to play for I can see them continue their recent dominant home record.
