EPL Preview, Saturday 8 December

We take a look at the 8 English Premier League matches taking place on Saturday and suggest a bet on each.

Bournemouth v Liverpool – click here to bet

Bournemouth are 7th on the table after a 2-1 home win over Huddersfield, a victory which broke a run of 4 successive losses.  Liverpool remain 2nd on the table after a 3-1 away win over Burnley in mid-week and that came on the back of their last gasp winner to Everton

Bournemouth 17/4

Draw 34/10

Liverpool 6/10

Suggested bet:  Over 3.5 goals at 14/10.

Liverpool games haven’t been that high scoring this season but the head-to-heads between these sides suggests that we will get plenty of goals.

Burnley v Brightonclick here to bet

Burnley are one from bottom of the table after a 3-1 home defeat to Liverpool and they have only taken 1 point from the last 24 they have played for and haven’t won in their last 8 League matches.  They face a Brighton side which sits 10th on the table after successive victories at home to Palace and away at Huddersfield.

Both teams have found the net in Brighton’s last 5 games.

Burnley 19/10

Draw 41/20

Brighton 17/10

Suggested bet:  Both teams to score at 21/20.

As mentioned above this stat is prevalent in Brighton’s matches and would have arrived in the last 2 Burnley home games as well.

Cardiff v Southampton click here to bet

Cardiff are 16th on the table, 2 positions ahead Southampton who are 18th.  Cardiff have only won 3 of their 15 matches but these wins have come in their last 7 games and they have won 3 of their last 4 home games.  Southampton are without a win in their last 11 matches and they have lost their last 3 in a row on the road

Cardiff 37/20

Draw 22/10

Southampton 33/20

Suggested bet:  The draw at 22/10.

This is certainly not one of the more inspiring fixtures on the card and I can see it being very tight with the draw a big runner.

West Ham United v Crystal Place click here to bet

West Ham are up to 13th on the table after successive victories, at home to Cardiff and away at Newcastle.  They managed to score 3 goals in both games and 9 out of the 15 West Ham matches have delivered for over 2.5 goal backers.  Crystal Palace matches have been much lower scoring with only 5 of their 15 games having 3 goals or more and they currently sit 15th on the table with just 1 win in their last 10 starts and in mid-week they went down 3-1 away at Brighton.

West Ham United 5/4

Draw 47/20

Crystal Palace 47/20

Suggested bet:  West Ham win at 5/4.

West Ham are starting to play some good football and Palace have lost 4 of their last 5 on the road.

Arsenal v Huddersfieldclick here to bet

Arsenal are 5th on the table after a 2-2 draw away at Manchester United in mid-week.  They haven’t lost in their last 13 matches but have only won 2 of their last 6 in the League.  They face a Huddersfield side, dangling just outside the relegation zone after successive defeats, the last away at Bournemouth.

Arsenal 3/10

Draw 19/4

Huddersfield 9/1

Suggested bet:  Handicap, Arsenal (-1) at 15/20.

Arsenal hammered Huddersfield 5-0 in this fixture last season and I think they will be far too strong at home and can win by more than a goal.

Manchester United v Fulhamclick here to bet

Manchester United are 8th on the table but without a win in their last 4 and they have drawn their last 3 games, including a 2-2 home draw against Arsenal in mid-week.  They face a Fulham side who finds themselves back at the foot of the table on 9 points from their 15 matches and they are coming off a 1-1 home draw with Leicester and Fulham have lost their last 6 away matches.

Manchester United 7/20

Draw 17/4

Fulham 31/4

Suggested bet:  Both teams to score at 8/10.

This would have arrived in both head-to-head meetings last season and with Fulham under new management I expect they can get something against united defence which has been leaky, this rates as my best bet on the card.

Chelsea v Manchester Cityclick here to bet

The match of the week is without doubt Chelsea against Manchester City.  Chelsea are now 4th on the table, 10 points behind City after a shock 2-1 defeat at Wolves in mid-week.  They remain undefeated at home with 5 wins and 3 draws and they face Manchester City who are top of the log having won their last 7 matches in a row, including beating a game Watford 2-1 away in mid-week.  City have conceded a goal in 4 out of their last 5 League matches.

Chelsea 57/20

Draw 11/4

Manchester City 19/20

Suggested bet:  Manchester City win at 19/20.

I was thinking of both teams to score but that is a bit short at 11/20 and with Chelsea’s confidence having taken a knock I am happy to back Manchester City to keep on rolling.

Leicester v Tottenham Hotspur click here to bet

Leicester are 9th on the table and undefeated in their last 6 games which have included 4 draws.  They drew 1-1 away to Fulham in their last start.  They face a Spurs side who is up to 3rd with 8 wins and 2 losses in their last 10 starts.

Leicester 57/20

Draw 53/20

Tottenham Hotspur 19/20

Suggested bet:  Tottenham win at 19/20.

Both teams to score is another tempting option here with this bet arriving in 4 out of the last 5 Spurs matches.  Once again the price is a bit short for me and I will go for a Spurs win at just shy of even money.
