We take a look at the 4 live English Premier League matches taking place on Sunday, including of course the Manchester Derby.
Liverpool v Fulham – click here to bet
Liverpool are 3rd on the table, 2 points behind Manchester City and they drew 1-1 away at Arsenal in their last start. They were very disappointing in midweek, getting upset in Europe and, judging by what I have seen on social media, the fans are already getting restless. They play a Fulham side which sits bottom of the table without a win in 8 and having lost their last 5 matches in succession including going down 1-0 at Huddersfield the last time out. Fulham have conceded 16 goals on the road in 6 trips.
Suggested bet: Under 3.5 goals at 12/10.
There have actually been 4 goals or more in the last 4 head-to-heads between the sides, but Liverpool are not at their fluent best and I think they can win this comfortably but with less than 4 goals in the game.
Chelsea v Everton – click here to bet
Chelsea go into the weekend 2nd on the table, 2 points behind Manchester City and they have yet to taste defeat this season. They are coming off a 3-1 home win over Palace and their last away game was a 4-0 win at Burnley. Everton are 9th on the table, 9 points behind City and they have won 4 of their last 5 matches but did go down 2-1 away at United in their penultimate start.
Suggested bet: Both teams to score, NO, at even money.
I think Chelsea will win the game but their price is a bit tight for me and I prefer the prospects that we will only get 1 of these sides finding the net, something which has happened in 5 of the last 6 head-to-heads.
Arsenal v Wolves – click here to bet
Arsenal have lost some momentum after successive draws and they are now 5th on the table, 6 points behind leaders, Manchester City. Their last start was a 1-1 home draw with Liverpool. Wolves are 11th on the table and have lost 3 matches in a row with their last away game being a 1-0 defeat at Brighton.
Suggested bet: Handicap, Arsenal (-1) at 31/20.
The Gunners have dropped the ball a bit of late but Wolves are really struggling and I can only see a comfortable Arsenal win here.
Manchester City v Manchester United – click here to bet
The clash of the weekend is undoubtedly top of the table, Manchester City at home to 7th placed Manchester United. Both teams won in Europe in midweek with United particularly impressive coming from behind to beat Juventus away.
City have scored 11 goals in their last 2 home matches while conceding just 1 and are averaging 4 goals a game at home while conceding an average of just half a goal. United have taken 10 points from the last 12 they have played for in the League and beat Bournemouth 2-1 away in their last start. Their defence has tended to leak and both teams have found the net in their last 7 games.
Manchester City 4/10
Manchester United 13/2
Suggested bet: Under 2.5 goals at 31/20.
This flies in the face of Manchester City home stats but City haven’t played many of the top teams and I expect Manchester United to adopt a defensive approach and City may battle to break them down.
