EPL Preview, Sunday 2 December

English Premier League punters could not ask for a better way to end the weekend than with 3 cracking games taking place on Sunday.  We take a look at each of them from a betting angle.

Chelsea v Fulhamclick here to bet

Chelsea go into the weekend on 4th place, 7 points behind leaders Manchester City and last weekend they suffered their first loss of the season going down 3-1 away at Spurs.  9 of the 13 Chelsea matches have had 3 goals or more in them and Fulham games have been even higher scoring, averaging 3.6 a game.  Fulham grabbed only their 2nd win of the season last weekend and are of course under new management.  They remain bottom of the table but only on goal difference.

Chelsea 1/5

Draw 27/4

Fulham 13/1

Suggested bet:  Both teams to score, YES, at 9/10.

Fulham look good for a goal given their new found confidence and Chelsea should be able to breach a Fulham defence which has conceded 33 times in 13 matches.

Arsenal v Tottenham Hotspurclick here to bet

The match of the weekend for me is Arsenal against Tottenham with the Gunners currently sitting 5th on the table, 3 points behind their London rivals who are 3rd.  Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 11 League matches but they have drawn 3 of their last 4 including home draws against Wolves and Liverpool.  Tottenham were impressive in beating Chelsea 3-1 at home last week and they have won 6 of their last 7 in the League with the only loss at home to Manchester City.  They have won their last 5 away matches.

Arsenal 31/20

Draw 26/10

Tottenham Hotspur 17/10

Suggested bet:  Tottenham win at 17/10.

I am tempted by the draw at what look attractive odds but have sided with Tottenham who I believe have the momentum and can take advantage of a shaky Arsenal defence.

Liverpool v Evertonclick here to bet

Fierce rivals Liverpool and Everton bring the curtain down on the weekend which Liverpool head into in 2nd place, 2 points behind leaders City.  They are still undefeated in the League and have won 4 of their last 5 and have won their last 2 home games since drawing 0-0 at home with City.  Everton are 6th on the table, 11 points behind Liverpool but they have battled on the road with only 1 win in 6 games.  A quick look at the goal stats throws up a surprising result and that is only 6 of the 13 Liverpool games have delivered for over 2.5 goal backers whereas 8 of 13 Everton games have had 3 goals or more in them.

Liverpool 4/10

Draw 4/1

Everton 27/4

Suggested bet:  Handicap, Everton (+1) at 39/20.

I can’t shake the feeling that Liverpool are beginning to wobble and while Everton’s away form isn’t great they do always lift themselves for this match and I think they are lively runners.
