EPL Preview, Wednesday 5 December

There are 6 English Premier League matches taking place on Wednesday and we take a look at each of them from a betting angle.

Burnley v Liverpoolclick here to bet

Burnley have slipped to 2nd from the bottom of the table after a horror run that has seen them take just 2 points from their last 7 matches.  Their home form has been very poor with just 1 win in 6 starts.  Liverpool scored an injury time winner against Everton, on the weekend, to keep the pressure on Manchester City and they are currently 2 points behind them on the table and they are still undefeated.  Their last away match was a comfortable 3-0 win at Watford.

Burnley 10/1

Draw 5/1

Liverpool 3/10

Suggested bet:  Handicap, Liverpool (-1) at 15/20.

Getting out of jail at Everton would no doubt have boosted Liverpool’s confidence and I am expecting a comfortable win against a side which is struggling at home.

Everton v Newcastle United – click here to bet

Everton are 6th on the table after their heart-breaking injury time loss to Liverpool on Sunday.  Their recent home form has been excellent and they have won 4 on the trot.  Newcastle are currently 15th on the table and they saw a 3 match winning streak ended on the weekend when they lost 3-0 at home to West Ham.

Everton 6/10

Draw 3/1

Newcastle 11/2

Suggested bet:  Everton Clean Sheet, YES, at 21/20.

This has historically been a low scoring fixture and Everton have kept clean sheets in 3 of their last 4 home games.

Fulham v Leicester click here to bet

Fulham are bottom of the table on 8 points from 14 matches and while they fought hard on the weekend, they lost 2-0 away at Chelsea.  Prior to that they had beaten Southampton 3-2 at home and they certainly look a different side under new management.  Leicester are 8th on the table after a 2-0 home win over Watford and they are undefeated in their last 5 League matches and their away form is decent with 3 wins in 7 games.

Fulham 2/1

Draw 5/2

Leicester 14/10

Suggested bet:  Fulham win at 2/1.

Fulham look to be a side on the up and they look the value bet to win at home.

Wolves v Chelsea click here to bet

Wolves are 12th on the table and have been in disappointing form taking just 1 point from the last 18 they have played for.  They took the lead against Cardiff on the weekend but the home side came back to win 2-1.  Wolves have lost their last 3 home matches and only 3 of the Wolves 14 matches this season have delivered for over 2.5 goal backers.

Chelsea remain 3rd on the table after a 2-0 home win over Fulham and their only defeat of the season came on the road away at Spurs on their last road trip.

Wolves 37/10

Draw 28/10

Chelsea 15/20

Suggested bet:  Chelsea win at 15/20.

Wolves are battling for points at the moment and Chelsea can dish out their 4th successive home loss.

Manchester United v Arsenalclick here to bet

The big match in the midweek programme sees 7th placed Manchester United at home to 4th placed Arsenal.  United have not won in their last 3 League games and on the weekend they drew 2-2 at Southampton.

Arsenal have won 9 and drawn 3 of their last 12 matches and on Sunday they had to come from behind to beat London rivals, Tottenham 4-2 at home.  It was their most impressive result of the season and they go into this game with plenty of confidence.

Manchester United 14/10

Draw 5/2

Arsenal 2/1

Suggested bet:  Arsenal win at 2/1.

Manchester United have an impressive home record against Arsenal but on current form, I cannot look past the Gunners here.

Tottenham Hotspur v Southamptonclick here to bet

Tottenham dropped to 5th on the table after the 4-2 away loss at Arsenal and the defeat broke a run of 3 successive League victories.  Southampton played to a 2-2 home draw against Manchester United on the weekend but they continue to slide down the table and are currently in 18th and without a League win in their last 10 starts.

Tottenham Hotspur 4/10

Draw 79/20

Southampton 29/4

Suggested bet:  Handicap, Tottenham (-1) at even money.

Tottenham can bounce back from the Arsenal defeat against a side that has only taken 4 points on the road all season.  They beat Southampton 5-2 in this fixture last season and I can see a similar winning margin.
