Formula 1, Austrian Grand Prix, Race Preview

The Red Bull Ring is the venue for this weekend’s Austrian Grand Prix which takes place on Sunday the 1st of July.

Last week the French Grand Prix, which returned to the Formula 1 calendar after a 10 year break, was won by Lewis Hamilton who led from start to finish.  Runner-up was Max Verstappen with Kimi Räikkönen completing the podium.  Sebastian Vettel who had started the race at the top of the Drivers’ World Championship standings received a 5 second time penalty for causing an accident involving Valtteri Bottas and Vettel had to settle for 5th spot.

Hamilton now leads Vettel by 14 points in the Drivers’ standings and he has firmed from 8/10 to 4/10 in the Championship betting with Vettel out to 22/10 from 12/10.

Drivers’ Standings

Suggested Bet: Lewis Hamilton win at 21/20

Hamilton won here in 2016 and he will be looking to build on last weeks victory and to put some distance between himself and Vettel. It is difficult to look past the top 2 in the betting and my preference is for Hamilton after his excellent drive last week.
