Formula 1, Spanish Grand Prix, Race Preview

The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is the venue for this week’s Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix and we suggest a bet on the race.

It was a 4th Mercedes 1-2 finish for the season when Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton crossed the line first and second respectively in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix a fortnight ago. They were followed by Sebastian Vettel who completed the podium.

Hamilton had started the race 6 points ahead of Bottas in the Drivers’ Championship standings but Bottas once again takes over the lead by just 1 point although Hamilton is still the 5/10 favourite for the title.  Mercedes now have a 74 point over Ferrari their nearest rivals in the Constructors Championship Standings.

Championship Standings

Valtteri Bottas 87

Lewis Hamilton 86

Sebastian Vettel 52

Max Verstappen 51

Charles Leclerc 47

Prices correct at time of posting but will change in the lead up to the race and there are a number of other markets on offer.

Last year in the Spanish Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton celebrated the victory after starting from pole and leading throughout the race.  Runner-up was his teammate Valtteri Bottas with Max Verstappen filling the bottom podium step.

Suggested Bet: Lewis Hamilton win at 16/10

Mercedes have won this race 4 of the last 5 years and Hamilton will be bidding for a hatrick. The Mercedes seems to have distanced itself from rivals once again and at a race where they have such a good record and with the World Sports Betting “Money Back” Promo for 2nd place – see details on the banner below I am happy to be taking 16/10 on the World Champion.
