The Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas plays host to this weeks United States Grand Prix and we look at the race from a betting angle.
Lewis Hamilton moved one step closer to his 5th Formula One World Title when he topped the podium in the Japanese Grand Prix a fortnight ago ahead of his teammate, Valtteri Bottas with Max Verstappen completing the podium.
Hamilton had entered the race with a 50 point lead over his nearest rival, Vettel, in the World Drivers’ Championship and this lead has now moved to 67 points after Vettel finished 6th having had an early race collision with Verstappen. Bookmakers have almost closed shop on the Championship betting and we could get a conclusion this week if Hamilton (1/500) outscores Vettel (50/1) at least 8 points.

Lewis Hamilton celebrated a 6th United States GP title last year when he topped the podium, Sebastian Vettel was second and Kimi Raikkonen took third spot.
Suggested Bet: Bottas win at 8/1
I was looking to back Hamilton who goes for his 5th successive win here but 11/20 is too short for my betting pocket. Vettel also has form here with a win back in 2013 but I think the value may lie with Bottas who has good form and may even get a favour or two from his teammate in this one.
