The second and final test match between India and West Indies gets underway in Hyderabad on Friday and after India dominated the first match of the series the hosts are a very short price to follow up.
The opening match was staged at Rajkot and India were trading at a pre-match price of around 2/11. They never looked like letting favourite backers down and there were 3 centurions in their mammoth first innings total of 649/9 declared.
Virat Kohli top scored with 139, Prithvi Shaw made 134 on debut and Jadeja was unbeaten on 100 when India declared. Pant (92) came desperately close to being the fourth batsmen to reach 3 figures and from there onwards it was just a case of whether WIndies could survive.
We didn’t have to wait long for the answer as WIndies were 2 wickets down with just 7 runs on the board in their reply. Their first innings folded at 181 all out and following on they made 196 as India ran out winners by an innings and 272 runs.
Yadav and Ashwin both took 6 wickets in the match whilst Bishoo took 4 for WIndies. Kieran Powell’s 83 in the second innings was the highest individual total for the visitors and Prithvi Shaw was named Man of the Match
West Indies last test match action in India came back in 2013 and India won both games by more than an innings. It’s not hard to envisage the same scenario in this series as the teams head for Hyderabad.

Bets: Batsman to score a Fifty in 1st Innings, Virat Kohli (yes) at 8/10
Kohli showed WIndies bowlers no mercy with a ton in Rajkot which makes the current price for him to reach 50 in the first innings stand out.
