Ireland opened their campaign with a 1-0 win at Gibraltar on Saturday and the fact that they battled past the minnows must be of some concern.  Group D is fairly competitive and current betting sees Switzerland 8/10 favourites with Ireland 3rd favourites at 19/4 – click here for Group D betting.  Goals have been very scarce in Ireland’s last 6 Internationals which has seen a total of just 4 goals and under 2.5 goal backers would have collected in each match.  Irelands last 3 home Internationals have seen them draw 0-0 with Northern Ireland, lose 1-0 to Wales and draw 0-0 to Denmark.

Georgia were beaten 2-0 at home by Switzerland in their opener and despite playing at home they represented very little in the way of attacking threat.  The defeat to Switzerland was Georgia’s first loss in 6 Internationals, but they have been playing against lower tier opposition such as Latvia, Andorra and Kazakhstan.

Ireland and Georgia have met 9 times with Ireland winning 8 games and a single draw coming in their last meeting in World Cup 2018 Qualifiers in Georgia.

Suggested bet:  Ireland Clean Sheet, YES, at 17/20.

Ireland have kept clean sheets in 4 of their last 5 International matches and Georgia are a side that will set their stall out to get a point and aren’t likely to offer much going forward.
