Japan and Poland meet in a Group H match at the Volgograd Arena on Thursday and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.
GROUP H UPDATE
Group H is very competitive with three of the teams still capable of topping the log and progressing. Japan currently on 4 points at 12/10 favourites to win the group, ahead of Columbia who are 37/20 and on 3 points and Senegal 21/10 on 4 points. Poland are unfortunately heading home irrespective of results on Thursday. Japan are very short at 1/10 to progress with Senegal 7/10 and Columbia 6/10. Click here for Group H outright betting.
Japan v Poland – click here to bet
Japan opened their World Cup campaign with a shock 2-1 win over Columbia and they then came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Senegal. Japan will be guaranteed to progress to the last 16 if they can avoid defeat in this match.
Poland have lost both their games 2-1 to Senegal and 3-0 to Columbia. They cannot progress from the group and will have just pride to play for.
These sides have met once which was in a friendly in 2002 where Japan won 2-0.
Suggested bet: over 2.5 goals at even money.
All of Japan’s and Poland’s games in this World Cup so far have delivered for over 2.5 goal backers and with Poland now free of the pressure of having to qualify I expect we will have an open game with chances at both ends.
