John Deere Classic 2018, Betting Preview

156

The PGA Tour heads to Illinois and the TPC Deere Run Course in Silvis this week and we take a look at the tournament from a betting angle.

The TPC Deere Run is a par 71 layout but is one of the easier courses on the PGA tour.  Players cannot afford an off round at a tournament like this as coming from off the pace will be tough.  The most important stats here is Greens in Regulation and of course you need to have a hot putter.

Defending champion Bryson Dechambeau heads the betting at 10/1 alongside last week’s winner Francesco Molinari.  Zach Johnson is 12/1 and you can get 16/1 and better the field.

My selections:

Francesco Molinari each way 10/1

Molinari is playing brilliant golf and with his maiden PGA Tour win now banked who is to say he cannot make it back to back in the USA and 3 out of 5 wins worldwide having won the BMW PGA.

Austin Cook each way 40/1

Cook has been playing excellent golf and was T5 last week in the Greenbrier, his 2nd top 10 in the last month. Cook is a streaky player who can go very low and that is what is needed at this course.

Andrew Landry each way at 50/1

Landry got a top 10 here in his debut and only appearance 2 years back and he is in good nick with a top 10 in his last start.

Whee Kim each way at 125/1

Kim went low last week before fading to finish well back but it shows his game is not far off coming together and he has a previous top 5 to his credit at this course.
