The English Premier League swings back into action on Friday night when last year’s runner-up Manchester United hosts 2015/2016 Champions Leicester City and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.
Manchester United were runners-up to Manchester City in the League last season and while they won the race for second place their neighbours were never in danger of being chased down. They were very strong at home with 15 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats and they kept clean sheets at home more often than not. Their pre-season results have been something of a mixed bag but it is always dangerous to read too much into that although United fans will be concerned about the way their coach Mourinho has been handling himself in the press and there is a sense that the players could turn against him at some point.
Leicester finished 9th on the table last season and they managed to avoid defeat on the road in just over 50% of their away matches. Leicester have suffered a big loss in the transfer window with Riyad Mahrez joining Manchester City and while they have made a number of acquisitions the gap he leaves will be very hard to fill. Leicester conceded five goals in three of their last 6 away matches of the 2017/2018 season.
These sides met twice in the League last season with United winning 2-0 at home and the sides drawing 2-2 at Leicester.

Manchester United 5/10
Suggested bet: Handicap, Manchester United (-1) at 27/20.
United should be too strong for Leicester here and this (-1) handicap bet would have arrived the last two meetings at Old Trafford and I am expecting it to become three in a row.
