NMB Giants v Paarl Rocks, Mzansi Super League Match 15 Preview

The first of Friday’s Mzansi Super League matches sees NMB Giants host the improving Paarl Rocks at St. Georges Park, Port Elizabeth.

NMB Giants

The Giants come into the game in second place in the standings, 6 points behind Cape Town Blitz but the Giants do have a game in hand on the log leaders. The Giants won 3 of their first 4 matches of the tournament including a 9 wicket victory over Durban Heat in an earlier home match. They were also scheduled to meet Blitz in a top of the table clash at this venue on Tuesday this week but the game was washed out without a ball being bowled and both sides picked up 2 points each.

Paarl Rocks

After a slow start to their tournament Paarl are emerging as a lively contender. They lost their first 2 matches of the tournament at home to the Spartans and then Jozi Stars before opening their account with a 5 wicket home win over previously unbeaten Cape Town Blitz. On Wednesday they travelled for the first time and although rain interrupted their innings at Kingsmead against Durban Heat they posted 98/2 in 9 overs. That target was revised up to 113 on DLS and the Rocks bowlers played their part in a 32 run (DLS) victory. Paarl are now third on the log, 5 points behind the Giants but with a game in hand.

These markets use a points based scoring system to determine their outcome. The point schedule is as follows:
1 point per run, 20 points per wicket, 10 points per catch, 25 points per stumping. Stakes refunded on non-selected players.
In Twenty20 matches the match must be scheduled for the full 20 overs and there must be an official result unless settlement of bets is already determined. In matches where the number of overs has been reduced and the outcome has not already been determined then bets will be void.
