Pakistan v Australia, 3rd T20 Preview

Pakistan and Australia clash in the third T20 international in Dubai on Sunday, it’s the final game of the tour and Australia have yet to taste success

Having won the 2 match test series 1-0, Pakistan clinched the T20 series with an 11 run win at this stadium of Friday. Pakistan had won the first match by 66 runs posting 155/8 and then bowling Australia out for 89. On Friday it was much closer and Pakistan successfully defended a vulnerable looking 147/6 for an 11 run victory.

Babar Azam top scored for Pakistan with 45, adding to the unbeaten 68 he had made in the series opener. Hafeez added 40 to go with the 39 he had scored in the earlier game but Pakistan never cut loose and Coulter-Nile’s figures of 3/18 were the best of the Australian bowlers.

Australia’s top 3 in the batting order all fell for single figures but Maxwell smashed 52 of just 37 balls to revive hopes. Maxwell’s wicket was crucial and although Coulter-Nile hit a rapid 27 down the order, the Aussies innings finished 11 short at 136/8.
