1867

Pakistan and New Zealand move on to Dubai for the second test match which gets underway on Saturday and after edging a thrilling first contest the Black Caps are 1-0 up with two to play.

The first test was staged in Abu Dhabi and it produced a gripping finish with New Zealand coming out on top by just 4 runs.

That outcome looked most unlikely as New Zealand were bowled out for just 153 in their first innings with Kane Williamson top scoring with 63. Pakistan replied with 227, a total short of expectations and Babar Azam top scored with 62 whilst Trent Boult took 4 wickets.

New Zealand gave themselves a fighting chance with a second innings total of 249 with 50’s for Watling and Nicholls whilst Hasan Ali and Yasir Shah both claimed 5 wickets.

Pakistan were still favourites and at 130/3 they were well on their way to victory. However debutant Ajaz Patel took 5 wickets as Pakistan crumbled to 171 all out with Azhar Ali (65) the last man out.

This was how the teams lined up in the first test:

Pakistan: Mohammad Hafeez, Imam-ul-Haq, Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Haris Sohail, Babar Azam,  Sarfraz Ahmed(c), Yasir Shah, Bilal Asif, Mohammad Abbas , Hasan Ali

Batsman to score a Fifty in the match Kane Williamson? (yes) at 15/20

Trent Boult obliged for us as top 1st innings bowler for New Zealand in the first test and we also fancy Kane Williamson to score a 50 in the match.
