Friday’s final match is a Group B fixture at the Fisht Stadium between heavyweights Portugal and Spain. We take a look at the game and suggest a bet.
GROUP B UPDATE
Spain are the firm favourites to win the group at 9/20 and you can also get them at 6/1 to win the tournament – Click here for outright betting. Portugal are second favourites at 2/1 with Morocco and Iran making up the numbers if the bookmakers are to be believed. One bet I quite like in this group is the straight forecast of Spain, Portugal at 12/10 so to win that bet Spain need to top the group with Portugal second. Click here for Group B betting

Portugal’s best overall performance in recent World Cup’s was in 2006 where they finished 4th but they were disappointing in Brazil in 2014 exiting in the group stages. They have played 3 warm up matches in recent weeks beating Algeria 3-0 and drawing with Belgium 0-0 and Tunisia 2-2.
Spain were World Cup Champions in South Africa in 2010 but they failed to kick on from that and were bundled out of the group stages in Brazil. They have had a fairly low key build up to the tournament with a draw against Switzerland and a 1-0 victory over Tunisia although earlier in the year they did beat Argentina 6-1 at home in a friendly.
These sides last met in Euro 2012 when Spain won on penalties after a goalless draw and a stat that jumps out from the head-to-head matches is that only 1 team or no team has scored in their last 5 match ups.
Suggested bet: Matchbet + Totals: Under 3.5 goals and Spain to win at 12/10.
I am expecting a tight encounter but I do think the favourites Spain will win it. At 9/10 to win the game they are a bit short for my wallet so I am going to bulk up the price a bit by adding in the fact that there can be no more than 3 goals in the match. Basically I’m looking for a Spain 1-0, 2-0, 3-0 or 2-1 victory.
