South African teams the Cheetahs and the Kings make their return to PRO 14 action this weekend and we take a look at both of the games from a betting angle.
Edinburgh v Southern Kings– click here to bet
The Kings sit bottom of Conference B with just 1 win in 10 starts and they now return to action after a layoff of just over a month, with their last start being a disappointing home loss to an understrength Benetton side.
Edinburgh are also in Conference B and are battling a bit in 5th spot with 6 wins from their 12 games. They have enjoyed success in recent weeks though beating rivals Glasgow Warriors both home and away.
Edinburgh won this fixture 37-7 last season.
Edinburgh -27.5 at 9/10
Kings +27.5 at 9/10
Suggested bet: Handicap, Edinburgh -27.5 at 9/10
The Kings are battling with depth clearly a problem in the Union while the hosts will be on a high after their recent derby wins.
Zebre v Cheetahs – click here to bet
The Cheetahs sit 6th in Conference A with 2 wins in 10 matches and their last start was in round 10 in early December when they went down 17-21 to Connacht at home. The only team below them in the Conference is Zebre depaite having won 3 from 12 matches and they are coming off successive derby losses to Benneton Treviso.
The Cheetahs recorded a rare victory on the road in this fixture last season winning 24-23 in Italy.
Zebre -1.5 at 9/10
Cheetahs +1.5 at 9/10
Suggested bet: Cheetahs win at 11/10
The betting suggests this game will be close and I suspect it will be. The Cheetahs may be rust after over a month off but Zebre will be low on confidence after the past fortnight and the visitors can capitalise on this.
