The Pro 14 continues this weekend and we take a look at the matches featuring the Kings and Cheetahs and suggest a bet in each.
Ulster v Southern Kings– click here to bet
Ulster are 3rd in Conference B with 8 victories, 4 defeats and a draw in their 13 matches. They were disappointing in being beaten by 31 points away to Leinster last time out but prior to that they had a solid 24-17 win over Munster at home.
The Kings are firmly rooted to the bottom of Conference B and they are still without a win in their 13 matches. They are coming off home and away double header against the Cheetahs where they lost both games, both by over 20 points and in their last trip into Europe they lost by 30 points to Edinburgh in poor conditions in early January.
The Kings hosted Ulster earlier in the season with Ulster coming out 43-36 winners in a high scoring encounter.
Southern Kings 20/1
Ulster -32.5 at 9/10
Kings +32.5 at 9/10
Suggested bet: Handicap, Kings +32.5 at 9/10.
It is hard to back the Kings with any confidence but I do think there may be a little bit of value in them here as Ulster are missing a few players to Six Nations duty and while they should beat the Kings comfortably, 32.5 points is a big start.
Cardiff v Cheetahs– click here to bet
Cardiff currently sit 4th in Conference A with 5 victories and 8 losses in their 13 matches. Their last match was in early January where they went down by 1 point away to the Ospreys and their home record has been a bit of a hit and miss with 3 wins and 3 losses in 6 starts.
The Cheetahs are 1 position above Cardiff in 3rd spot in Conference A but they are a full 15 points clear of their opponents.A look at the outright betting – click here sees the Cheetahs currently quoted at 32/1 to win the Pro 14. The Cheetahs had few problems in beating the Kings home and away in January but in Europe they have not had much success with just 1 win and 3 losses in their 4 away starts.
These sides have not yet met in this competition.
Cardiff -3.5 at 9/10
Cheetahs +3.5 at 9/10
Suggested bet: Handicap, Cheetahs +3.5 at 9/10.
While the Cheetahs haven’t impressed in Europe they do have more to play for than Cardiff who are also impacted by Six Nations call ups. I think the Cheetahs have a real chance of winning this but will go for the more conservative handicap option.
