PSL 24 April, Betting Preview

There are two live ABSA Premiership matches taking place on Tuesday night and we take a look at each of them from a betting angle.

Ajax Cape Town v Baroka – click here to bet

Ajax Cape Town currently sit 2nd from bottom of the table and with just 3 games left to go in the season they will need to get moving if they are to guarantee their PSL status.  Their most recent action was a 1-1 away draw at Chippa United and their home form has been strong with 4 wins and a draw in their last 5 starts. Ajax have not conceded a goal in their last 4 home games.

Baroka have been sliding down the table for some time now and they have only taken 2 points from the last 12 they have played for in the League and currently sit 9th on the table.  Their away form has been key to that fall down the table and they are without a win in their last 9, drawing 5 and losing 4.

These sides drew 2-2 at Baroka earlier in the season and last season Baroka won this fixture 1-0.

Ajax Cape Town 12/10

Draw 43/20

Baroka 9/4

Suggested bet:  Ajax win at 12/10.

Ajax have been in superb form at home and they play against a side which is really battling on the road, add to that the extra motivation they will have to climb out of the relegation play-off spot and I think the current price is very attractive.

Golden Arrows v Kaizer Chiefsclick here to bet

Golden Arrows sit 12th on the log and are not guaranteed of safety at this point.  They have only won 1 of their last 5 matches and most recently went down 1-0 away to Sundowns.  They have taken 5 points out of the last 15 they have played for at home and both teams have scored in 4 of their last 5 home matches.

They face a Chiefs team that is reeling after the tragic events in the Nedbank Cup on the weekend which also saw them bow out at the hands of Free State Stars.  Chiefs are currently 4th on the table and they have taken 8 points out of the last 15 they have played for on the road with both teams scoring in 3 of the last 4 Chiefs away matches.

Chiefs and Arrows played to a 0-0 draw in the reverse fixture earlier this season and Chiefs won here 2-0 last season.

Golden Arrows 23/10

Draw 21/10

Kaizer Chiefs 12/10

Suggested bet: Under 1.5 goals at 15/10.

I can see this being a very dour and tight affair, also a 0-0 draw a big runner.  Arrows will be happy with a point and it is impossible to say what Chiefs mind set will be going into this game, given that their manager also resigned after the Nedbank Cup defeat.
