PSL Preview 8 August 2018

There are five PSL fixtures taking place on Wednesday night and we take a look at the 2 live games from a betting angle.

Chippa United v Orlando Pirates – click here to bet

Chippa United were fancied by many to get something out of the opening match at Bloem Celtic but they put in a disappointing performance after a decent start and lost 2-0 on the road.  They are now at home where they only lost 1 of their last 7 matches last season although 5 of those ended in draws.

Pirates were well backed in their opener against a newly promoted Highlands but were held to a 1-1 draw at home.  They won 3 out of their last 5 away games in the League last season.

Orlando Pirates did the double over Chippa United last season beating them 4-2 away and 1-0 at home and they have won their last 4 matches against Chippa United.

Chippa United 22/10

Draw 2/1

Orlando Pirates 14/10

Suggested bet:  Pirates win at 14/10.

Chippa are not an easy team to roll at home but I do feel that Pirates are going to have a strong season despite a disappointing start and given their excellent record over Chippa United the 14/10 is too good to resist.

Baroka v Cape Town Cityclick here to bet

Baroka lost their opening match of the campaign 1-0 away to AmaZulu and their home form at the end of the last season wasn’t that encouraging with just 1 win in their last 7 starts.

Cape Town City were far more impressive on the weekend beating SuperSport United 2-0 at home and they will be looking to improve their recent away record having ended last season with 4 losses and 3 draws in their last 7 away games.

Baroka won this fixture 2-1 last season and the sides drew 1-1 at Cape Town City.

Baroka 39/20

Draw 2/1

Cape Town City 31/20

Suggested bet:  Cape Town City win at 31/20.

Baroka strike me as a team who are going to struggle this season while in contrast I am expecting good things from Cape Town City and I think they are going to make it 2 wins from 2 to start the season.
