We take a look at 3 of the Absa Premier League matches taking place over the weekend with the big one being the Soweto Derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

Kaizer Chiefs v Orlando Piratesclick here to bet

Chiefs currently sit 6th on the table, 5 points behind 3rd place Pirates and having played a game more.  Their form has been erratic and they lost 1-0 at home to Cape Town City last time out having previously come off successive away wins.  Chief’s matches have averaged 2.2 goals this season, 7 of their 19 games delivering for over 2.5 goal backers.

Pirates are on a lengthy unbeaten run and they have only lost twice in the League all season.  They have drawn 4 of their last 6 matches though including a 1-1 home draw with Baroka last time out.  9 of 18 Pirates matches have had 3 goals or more in them and their games have averaged 2.4 goals each, the 5th highest in the PSL

Suggested Bet:  Both teams to score, YES, at 1/1

Pirates are playing an attacking brand of football that does tend to leave spaces in the back and this bet would have arrived in the last 3 head-to-heads in all competitions.

AmaZulu v Cape Town Cityclick here to bet

AmaZulu sit in 11th place on the table having been deducted 6 points earlier in the season.  Their last match was a stunning 2-0 away win over Mamelodi Sundowns and that broke a 3 match run without a victory.  Cape Town City are 4th on the table and in good form with 4 wins and 2 draws in their last 6 starts.  They beat Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 away last time out and while they have only won 3 out of 8 away matches this season, all 3 wins have come in their last 4 away games so they are in good form on the road.

Suggested Bet:  AmaZulu win at 2/1

The home team tends to have the edge in this fixture and I was very impressed with AmaZulu’s last start against Sundowns.

Golden Arrows v SuperSport Unitedclick here to bet

Sunday’s featured match pits 9th placed Golden Arrows against 8th placed SuperSport United.

Arrows are unbeaten in their last 4 including a 2-1 win at home to Highlands last time out and they have won their last 3 home games in the PSL.  SuperSport are also coming off a victory having beaten Bloem Celtic 2-1 at home but they have battled on the road, winning just 2 out of their 10 starts and they haven’t won in their last 4 road trips.

Suggested Bet: Total Goals Aggregated, 2-3 goals at 9/10

This bet would have arrived in 9 of the last 10 Golden Arrows matches and 3 of the last 4 SuperSport games.
