The final spot in the last 4 will be decided on Saturday night when hosts Russia play Croatia at the Fisht Stadium and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.
The outright betting would have changed significantly by the time this game kicks off but at the time of writing we have Brazil as the ruling favourites at 5/2 ahead of France 4/1, England 9/2 and Belgium 6/1. Croatia are 13/2 to lift the cup and hosts Russia are 22/1. An interesting outright market which should attract attention is to predict the finalists and here we have Brazil v Croatia final trading at 27/4 while the Brazil v Russia final can be backed at 14/1 – click here for outright betting markets

Russia went into their last 16 clash against Spain as heavy underdogs but after conceding a goal they equalised and pushed the match to penalties where they won. They had opened the group stages impressively hammering Saudi Arabia and comfortably beating Egypt before going down 3-0 to Uruguay in their final group match.
Croatia also required penalties to get past Denmark having conceded a goal in the first minute only to equalise a few minutes later. The goals dried up after that though and the match was decided from the penalty spot. Croatia had come through their group stages with 3 wins over Nigeria, Iceland and a particularly impressive 3-0 win over Argentina.
These sides last met in a friendly in 2015 with Croatia winning 3-1 and they met twice in Euro 2008 with both games finishing 0-0.
Suggested bet: Matchbet + Totals: Under 2.5 goals and Croatia at 47/20.
This should be a tight and low scoring game and I expect the draw will be a big runner and considered the 12/10 that the teams are locked at 0-0 at half-time. In the end though I settled for a narrow Croatia win and while not overly impressed with them against Denmark, I do feel that they have played some excellent football and can edge the hosts here.
