Sports Diary, Friday 8 November

As we build up to the sporting weekend there is plenty of opportunities for punters to get involved in on Friday and we take a look at some of the highlights in our daily diary.

There are 2 PSL matches on Friday night with Maritzburg United 5/4 favourites to beat Bloem Celtic at home and in one of the games of the weekend we have Wits 11/10 at home to SuperSport who are 57/20 with the draw at 21/10.

Wits currently sit 3rd on the table having won their last 4 matches and SuperSport United have slipped to 4th with 3 draws in a row.  Wits have plenty of games in hand over the teams above them having played just 6 times this season compared to SuperSport United having played 10 times.

SuperSport United edged this fixture 1-0 last season and in their home fixture these sides drew 1-1.   If you fancy goals on Friday night you can get over 2.5 goals at 14/10.

There is also English Premier League action on Friday night with Norwich City at home to Watford.  Norwich have been battling since their stunning home victory over Manchester City near the start of the season and they have only taken 1 point from the last 18 they have played for in the League and they currently sit 2nd from bottom in 19th spot.  That though is 2 points ahead of bottom placed Watford who are still looking for their first win of the season where they have drawn 3 out of their last 4 and in their last away game managed a 1-1 draw with Tottenham.

The bookies are struggling to separate these sides with Norwich 17/10, Watford 31/20 and the draw 26/10.  Despite Watford’s problems the managerial switch looks likely to pay dividends soon and we think they can grab their first win of the season at 31/20.

There is Pro 14 action on Friday night with Connacht at home to Leinster.  Leinster look likely to select a strong side and they are favourites at 8/15 which translates to a (-4.5) handicap over Connacht.

Local Horse Racing takes place at the Fairview Turftrack in Port Elizabeth on Friday with an 8 race card getting going at 12:30 and set to finish at 16:40.

The card has an open look to it, but we do like the chances of the favourite in Race No. 4, Horse No. 1 Luna Wish backing from an opening quote of even money into 15/20.
