Monday offers up limited sports betting opportunities and we take this opportunity to look ahead at some of the highlights later in the week.

TENNIS

The US Open enters its 2nd week and top seed Djokovic is a 1/5 shot to beat Stan Wawrinka and continue his march to yet another Grand Slam title. A more competitive betting heat is the match up between Alexander Zverev (8/10) and Diego Schwartzman (1/1)

The ladies tournament also continues on Monday and Serena Williams (1/5) is expected to see off her opponent Qiang Wang (34/10) without too many problems.

HORSE RACING

Local horse racing takes place in Port Elizabeth at the Fairview Polytrack with the 1st race due off at 12h30 and the 8th and final race at 16h40.

Our flutter for the day comes in the 5th race where we fancy number 12 Burnt Rock at a current price of 11/2.

THE WEEK AHEAD

The 4th Ashes test gets underway on Wednesday and England are 14/10 to take a 2-1 series lead with the draw priced at 3/1 and Australia 33/20. There are a wide range of markets on offer including top 1st innings batsman and bowler for each team.

Saturday is Currie Cup Final day and Free State will host the Golden Lions in Bloemfontein. The early betting is out and the home team are -6.5 on the handicap and 9/20 to win the game. More on this match later in the week.

The Vuelta a Espana continues on Tuesday with an Individual Time Trial and in what has become a 4-horse race Primoz Roglic will be looking to put some time into his rivals and he is priced at 4/10 to win the stage.

He is currently the 5/10 favourite to win the race with Lopez 4/1, Quintana 11/2 and Valverde 12/1. He current trails race leader Quintana by 6 seconds.
