Sports Diary, Thursday 27th June

AFCON 2019, Womens World Cup and Copa America all feature in Thursday’s diary whilst India are in action in the Cricket World Cup. The US Senior Open and Rocket Mortgage Classic get underway, Lewis Hamilton is a hot favourite ahead of practice for the Austrian GP and we take in a betting update for the Durban July.

International Football

Groups B & C are in focus in AFCON 2019 where the pick of the 3 games would have to be Senegal’s clash with Algeria. In the opening round of matches Senegal beat Tanzania 2-0 and Algeria also won their opener against Kenya by a 2-0 scoreline. It’s highly likely both nations will make it through to the knockout rounds but topping the group and a more favourable last 16 draw is a prize worth chasing. Senegal are favourites at 23/20 with the draw at 21/10 and Algeria are 26/10. Expect a decent game between 2 quality sides who look hard to separate and a 1-1 draw in the correct score market would net you odds of just over 5/1. Bet on Senegal v Algeria here.

The Womens World Cup has reached the quarter final stage and the first of the last 8 match ups sees Norway paired with England. Norway came through the previous round with a penalty shoot out win over Australia whilst England, who have a 100% record in the tournament so far, saw off Cameroon 3-0 in a controversial game. England are even money favourites to win in 90 minutes with the draw at 12/5 and Norway are 27/10.  Bet on Norway v England here.

In the early hours of Friday morning the first of the Copa America quarter finals sees Brazil clash with Paraguay and the host nation are 1/6 favourites to get the job done in regulation time and 5/10 to win by a margin of 2 goals or more.

Cricket World Cup

Thursday’s action in the Cricket World Cup sees India clash with West Indies in Manchester with India looking for a victory that would pretty much secure a semi final place.  We have a full match betting preview on this link where we look to Jasprit Bumrah to beat his quote in the Player Performance market.
