Looking at Wednesday’s TV schedule it is clear that football once again dominates with Champions League and MTN8 Cup action. We take a closer look in our daily Betting Diary.
Groups A through to D swing into action in the Champions League on Wednesday night and there are a couple of big fixtures to look forward to.
In Group D Atletico Madrid host Juventus and bookmakers have the Spanish team 14/10 favourites with the draw 21/10 and the Italian giants priced at 9/4.
Atletico Madrid opened their League campaign with 3 successive victories, but they did go down 2-0 away at Real Sociedad on the weekend. Juventus have taken 7 points from a possible 9 in the League and on the weekend they drew away to Fiorentina 0-0. There shouldn’t be much in this fixture and we do think the draw is a big runner at 21/10.

The other game which really catches the eye is PSG at home to Real Madrid in Group A.
PSG are favourites to win the match at 12/10, the draw at 26/10 and Real Madrid on offer at 21/10. PSG have been in solid form in the League winning their last 3 games without conceding a goal and Real Madrid have won 2 and drawn 2 of their 4 League matches to date with both teams finding the net on each occasion.
These sides met in the knock-out stages two seasons back with Real Madrid going through 5-2 on aggregate and they won at PSG 2 goals to 1. Given the attacking prowess of these two sides we expect goals and over 3.5 goals is quoted at 13/10.

Wednesday night sees the second MTN8 Semi-Final second leg taking place between Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport. The first leg finished 1-1 and Sundowns are firm favourites at 7/10 to win this one with SuperSport 9/2 and the draw 23/10. A bet that stands out if you look at recent head-to-head stats is 2-3 goals being scored in total at 9/10.

The Caribbean Premier League continues and you can click here for betting as it becomes available, but Wednesday’s highlight is the second T20 between India and South Africa and the anticipation is high given that the first T20 was rained out. India are firm in the betting at 9/20 with South Africa 18/10 and our suggested bet is in the Top Home Batsman Market where we like Dhawan at a current price of 3/1. There are loads of Exotic Markets on this game including which team will hit the most sixes, how many runs there will be in the first over and whether or not a 100 will be scored in the match with YES currently on offer at 7/1.

Local Horse Racing takes place at the Greyville Turftrack on Wednesday with a 9 race card starting at 12h20 and scheduled to finish at 17h10.
Our fancy for the day comes in the 8th race of 1800 metres where Horse No. 5, Angelico, is currently 7/2 second favourite.
RUGBY WORLD CUP
There has been no significant change to the outright betting since we posted yesterday’s diary and New Zealand are favourites at 15/10 with South Africa 4/1 and England 9/2, Wales have replaced Ireland as 4th favourites at 9/1 with Ireland still on offer at 10/1.
