The Currie Cup semi-finals, English Premier League football, the Belgium F1 GP and the MTN 8 Cup take centre stage this weekend and in our Diary we take a look at the sporting highlights from a betting angle.
The Currie Cup takes centre stage this weekend with the two semi-finals. The Lions are firm favourites to see off the Griquas in Johannesburg with the handicap (-7.5) Lions and in Bloemfontein the Free State will take on the Sharks where there has been money for the Sharks as they have come in from (+5.5) to (+3.5). We felt the Griquas were a bit unlucky to lose to the Lions last week after coming out of the blocks really slowly and fancy the (+7.5).

In the second semi-final the money for the Sharks looks spot and we are going for a straight win on the away team at 14/10.

There is plenty of other Rugby action this weekend including the Mitre10 Cup and on Saturday the big International warm up for the World Cup is Wales against Ireland where Wales have selected a very much a B team and Ireland are slight favourites at 9/10 in what is essentially a choice game with the bookmakers.

There is a full house of English Premier League fixtures this weekend with leaders Liverpool away to Burnley in the late kick off on Saturday. Burnley are 8/1 for the win and Liverpool 7/20 and you can get 19/20 that Liverpool win by more than a goal.

The big match of the weekend takes place on Saturday with Arsenal hosting Tottenham. Arsenal went down to Liverpool in their last start, but Tottenham were stunned 1-0 at home to Newcastle. Arsenal have won this fixture the last 2 years in a row at home and we are expecting more of the same and the Gunners to win at 27/20 is the call.
The MTN 8 semi-finals takes place this weekend with Polokwane against Highlands Park on Saturday and SuperSport against Sundowns on Sunday. We think anything better than even money on SuperSport is a decent bet so the current 23/20 appeals.

The Belgium Grand Prix takes place on Sunday and current betting sees Lewis Hamilton 16/10 favourite ahead of Sebastian Vettel at 28/10. You can get 7/2 about Charles Leclerc and 7/1 and better the balance.

The West Indies v India Test Match continues and on Sunday we have got the first T20 between Sri Lanka and New Zealand. Here Sri Lanka are priced at 5/4 underdogs with New Zealand 13/20. There are plenty of markets on the game including a first innings score over or under 175.5 runs and the player who scores the most sixes in the match where we think Guptill could be the business at 9/2.
