Sweden and England meet for a semi-final spot on Saturday at the Cosmos Arena and this should be a very competitive match.
Sweden are the rank outsiders to win the World Cup at 28/1 at the time of writing with England priced as third favourites at 9/2. Brazil are currently 5/2 ruling favourites with France 4/1, Belgium 6/1 and you can get 16/1 and better the balance but by the time the Sweden and England game kicks off the first two quarter-finals will have taken place. Harry Kane is a 2/9 favourite to win the Golden Boot and you can get 5/1 on a Brazil v England final – click here for more outright betting markets.

Sweden came through a difficult group with two wins and a loss, beating the Republic of Korea and Mexico but losing to Germany 2-1. Their final match against Mexico was a 3-0 victory and it was enough to see them top the table on goal difference. They then came out and beat Switzerland 1-0 in their last 16 clash.
England required penalties to overcome Colombia in the last 16 after they conceded a late equaliser in regulation time to draw 1-1. They had come through their group comfortably enough in second spot behind Belgium with wins over Tunisia and Panama and a 1-0 loss to Belgium in their final match.
These sides last met in a friendly in 2012 where Sweden won 4-2 and three of the last four matches between the sides over the years have had 4 goals or more in them but I am not reading too much into that in this fixture.
Suggested bets: The draw at 22/10 and England on penalties at 19/2
There may be a history of goals between these sides but I am expecting a very tight and probably low scoring fixture here. Sweden looked very sound defensively against Switzerland and while England impressed at times against Colombia they don’t create a lot of chances outside of the set pieces and penalties. I think there is an excellent chance we head into extra time and penalties once again and if like me you were impressed with their penalty taking in their last 16 match you can get 19/2 that they win the game in a penalty shoot-out.
