The British Masters 2019, Outright Preview

The Hillside Golf Club in Lancashire is the venue for this week’s European Tour Event, The British Masters and we select 4 players to take on the bookmakers.

The Hillside Golf Club is a par 72 layout and situated alongside the coast it is a links course where wind can play a big role. We have no course form to go on as this event is played at a different venue each year, but it is probably safe to assume that golfers who go well on links courses will feature well here.

Tommy Fleetwood is the host here and he also tops the betting boards at the current price of 8/1 with Tyrrell Hatton 18/1 and you can get 20/1 and better about the balance.

Past Winners (different venues each year)

2018 – Eddie Pepperell -9

2017 – Paul Dunne -20

2016 – Alexander Noren -18

2015 – Matthew Fitzpatrick -15

Fleetwood 8/1

Hatton 18/1

Pepperell 20/1

Wallace 22/1

Luiten 25/1

28/1 and better the balance, prices correct at the time of posting but subject to change

Ryan Fox each way at 40/1

Fox returns after a few weeks off, he is a proven performer on links courses and goes well in the wind and has shown some pretty decent form over the last year.

David Lipsky each way at 35/1

Lipsky has had back-to-back Top 5 finishes and is playing some excellent golf.  He is another player who should be suited by conditions and can give us a run for our money.

Paul Dunne each way at 66/1

Paul Dunne won this event in 2017 all be it on a different course.  He has shown up towards the top of leader boards on occasions this year, but did withdraw from his last event.  He has delivered for me a few times for over the years and at current prices I want him on side this week.

Brandon Stone each way at 200/1

Stone is a proven exponent of links golf, although his current form is not great.  He returns to action after a few weeks off and I am hoping he will go fresh at a big price.
